Introduction

Sangameshwar College is keen to provide digital access to curriculum so that students could perform varieties of experiments at their own time, on their own will. With this enthusiasm college has made tie up with Virtual Lab, IIT Bombay, which is working under Ministry of HRD, Government of India. IIT-Bombay has approved Nodal Centre to our college on 25/02/2019 for the period of one year. The Nodal Centre has well equipped computer lab and NRC (Network Resource Centre) with 45 computers working at speed of minimum 2Mbps, where it guide students to perform several experiments which are available on IIT- Bombay virtual lab web site, besides students are also advised to perform and practice the experiments on their own mobile at their own convenience. It is a free usage centre where it has not any financial liability on its users and developers. The activities of Nodal centre are planned and performed through Nodal Centre Co-ordinator and Technical Co-ordinator in consultation with Principal, which are implemented through Departmental Coordinators. Nodal centre organises workshops, training programme to teachers, designing and development on new virtual lab experiments etc. It also provide regular feedback to Regional Centre, Pune about usage as monthly report.

Objectives of Nodal Centre

To develop interface between departments and Nodal centre at college.

To identify experiments from vlabs IIT Bombay that could be performed at Nodal Centre of the college in consultation with departmental coordinators.

To develop interface between Outreach Team of Virtual Labs, IIT Bombay and College

To conduct training sessions for students and faculty members of the college.

To work towards making Virtual labs popular among students.

To collect feed back for experiments of different labs.

To provide feedback report and monthly utilization report to Virtual Labs, IIT Bombay

To organise outreach programme for students and faculty members of neighboring colleges.
